Classes and limitations


Entry classes

Puppy Class

For dogs from 6 to 9 months old on the day they are shown.

Junior Class

For dogs from 9 to 18 months old on the day they are shown. These dogs do not compete for the CAC or CACIB, but they can compete for Best of Breed.

Intermediate Class

For dogs from 15 to 24 months old in the day they are shown. Dogs entered in this class can compete for the CAC and CACIB, as well as for Best of Breed.

Open Class

For dogs from 15 months old and over in the day they are shown. International Beauty Champions and National Beauty Champions of foreign countries are also allowed to enter this Class. Dogs entered in this class can compete for the CAC and the CACIB, as well as for Best of Breed.

Working Class

For dogs from 15 months old and over in the day they are shown and only if they are entitled to be entered in this class according the FCI Regulation. In this Class, dogs whose breeds are submitted to a working trial can compete for CAC, CACIB and Best of Breed.

Champion Class

For dogs from 15 months old and over in the day they are shown. Compulsory for Portuguese Beauty Champions and optional for Beauty champions of other countries recognised by FCI. Dogs entered in this class can only compete for the CACIB and Best of Breed.

Veteran Class

For dogs from 8 years old and over in the day they are shown. Dogs entered in this Class do not compete for the CAC or CACIB, but they can compete for Best of Breed.

Brace Class (An Optional Collective Class/Competition)

For a dog and a bitch of the same breed and variety, belonging to the same owner.

Breeders Competition (An Optional Collective Class/Competition)

A minimum of three and a maximum of five dogs or bitches of the same breed and variety, bred by the same person (with the same kennel name), even if they are not his property.

Progeny Class (An Optional Collective Class/Competition)

A dog or a bitch with a minimum of three and a maximum of five of his/her progeny (first generation: sons/daughters).


Limitations

To compete in Working/Champion Classes a copy of the FCI official and compulsory certificate/National or FCI International titles must be enclosed with the entry form.

In order to compete for the CAC, foreign Beauty Champions or International Beauty Champions must be entered in Intermediate and Open Classes, as well as in Working Class.

Optional Collective Classes/Competition: to compete in these classes/competition, the dogs and bitches entered must be registered individually in one of the compulsory classes.
